Moderations:
okay. the moderations ain't going my way at all...
let me do a breakdown on them.
elementary mathematics: 5mks moderation
hello?? i can safely say 90 or more % of my class already got a1. for the 1st time my e-math got higher than a-math.. its like one of the easiest paper in all my 4yrs but wth? 5mks? dragged my 85mks to 90 but what's the point? an a1's still an a1 afterall
additional mathematics: square root of the mks times 10
this moderation is seriously stupid. what a crazy formula to use!!! now those ppl who scored high for this paper got lesser moderation than those that got lower. its totally unfair! ppl with b4 can be moderated to an a1. and i mugged maths like shit for what? still an a1, abeit with lesser moderation. truth is our paper is not serverely difficult at all. compare ours to monfort, bukit panjang sec, or even compassvale. its no where close!! yet the ridiculous moderation.. now i'm just wondering.. they are maths teachers right?
combine humanities: plus 8mks
okay.. this moderation is quite reasonable.. 8mks is useful especially when most of us only have one humanities subject. and the geog paper was marked rather strictly. but then again, maybe we were simply not up to mark.. that's why this moderation. maths teachers got a lot to learn from the humanities department.
english: plus 6mks
quite satisfied with this moderation. realistic results for me. considering the english standards in my school, i don't think many ppl deserves a distinction. (even me) so, not too bad.
3 pure sciences: no moderation
looks like there won't be any moderations for these papers.. bio paper was marked very leniently, to an extent of disillusioning many students. science papers were considered a breeze.. i should have scored well. but complacency set in. and nope, not up to mark. i have only myself to blame. but considering the way they moderated the math marks, i feel that we deserve some moderation in the science area. 5mks? 1 grade. that would be perfect. although i know i don't deserve it.
